U.S. Private Aviation Statistics: 2026 Fact Sheet

A practical, sourced view of the aircraft, flight activity and infrastructure behind U.S. general aviation and on-demand operations.

Last updated October 13, 2026. Every figure below names its source and reporting year.

How to read these figures

Private aviation is not measured in one single public dataset. The Federal Aviation Administration’s activity survey covers U.S. general aviation and Part 135 on-demand operations, a broader category that includes business, personal, instructional and other flying. Global manufacturer delivery figures are reported separately. The distinctions matter, so each statistic is labelled with its scope and date.

Planning a flight is still a specific conversation.

Industry data gives useful context. A charter decision comes down to the actual route, group, timing and aircraft fit.
